DR. D. W. HILCHIE WELL LOG SCHOOLS

2001

Basic Well Log Analysis

As the title implies, this one week course provides the participant with a sound general knowledge of the principles of modern well logging and the techniques most commonly used to interpret them.

The course follows Dr. Hilchie's textbook Applied Open Hole Log Interpretation which is supplied to the participant.  The examples used are Canadian examples selected from areas of current interest in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. Dr.  Hilchie also provides an Applied Open Hole Chart Book used in conjunction with the example sets.

This course is intended for technologists, geologists, geophysicists and engineers at the junior level. The course while titled Basic is meant for people that have had some prior exposure to well logs and well log analysis. A three day course such as the one offered by Schlumberger or completion of Western Atlas's Home Study course would be a rerequisite for Dr. Hilchie's course.

The course runs for five days from 08:30 to 16:00 each day.

Current cost per person: Cdn$1,355.00 including GST

Class size is limited to 30 participants. Please register early to avoid disappointment.
