As the title implies, this two day course provides the participant with a general knowledge of the principles of interpretation of old electric logs. The course covers the
interpretation of wireline well logs recorded prior to 1958. Included are the ES, SP, normal, lateral, microlog, microlaterolog, limestone device, old gamma and old neutron logs.
The course follows Dr. Hilchie's textbook Old Electric Log Interpretation
which is supplied to the participant. The examples used are primarily Canadian examples selected from areas in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin.
This course is intended for technologists, geologists,
geophysicists and engineers at any level. A working knowledge of basic well logging concepts would be helpful. The course runs for two days from 08:30 to 16:00 each day.
Current cost per person: Cdn$535.00 including GST
Class size is limited to 30 participants. The course is tentatively scheduled and could be canceled due to insufficient participation. Please register early to
avoid disappointment.
